Olivia Whatley

Olivia is a second-year Master’s student at Johns Hopkins University studying Environmental Science and Policy. She is a published environmental writer with The Foundation for Law and International Affairs, Americorps, and BCAGlobal. Her current project is her
master’s thesis on how communication between trees can help mitigate climate change.

Olivia is passionate about Environmental Justice, and her research is focused on climate change, conservation, and ecology. She holds a dual degree in Theology and International Relations from Belmont University. She has spent her career working for nonprofit organizations gaining experience in arenas from strategic planning and policy to communications and administrative work. She is currently based out of Washington, D.C., and is the Environmental Justice Consultant for BCAGlobal, the Atlas Zero Waste Fellow for Johns Hopkins University’s Office of Sustainability, and a policy intern for the International Fund for Animal Welfare.
